About us

A small floor. A full dispensary.

Albertyn Pharmacy is a compact shop, and our customers keep writing that it makes no difference. One reviewer put it plainly: “pretty well stocked for such a small floor area, and they have everything you would need.” That is the standard we keep — the medicine and everyday health lines a household actually runs out of, held in stock and within reach of the counter.

Behind that counter is a full dispensary handling prescriptions, repeats and chronic medication, and packing that medication into dated blister packs when a week's doses are easier to follow laid out than counted out. Beside it is a clinic room, so vaccinations and routine clinic services are done here rather than referred somewhere else. Anneke and Yvette are named again and again in our reviews — the same team, visit after visit.

We are the Pharmacy at SPAR in the Kleinmond SPAR centre on Botrivier Road, and we do not stop at the door: we deliver along the coast from Bot River through to Rooi-Els. Some patients walk here from around the corner; one reviewer made the hour drive from Hermanus for a vaccination and wrote that it was worth the trip.

Nine things you can sort out at Albertyn — from a repeat script to a blister pack, a vaccination or a piercing — most of them without an appointment. And if you cannot get here, we deliver.

Dispensary

Hand your script in at the counter and it is checked and dispensed on site by a pharmacist, who will take you through the dosage, the timing and anything to watch for.

Before you come through.

The Sunday hour

We open between 11:00 and 12:00 on Sundays and public holidays. It is one hour, not a full day — so if a script cannot wait until Monday, that is the window to come through.

We come to you

Monday to Friday we deliver anywhere from Bot River through to Rooi-Els. Saturdays the van stays in Kleinmond, so out-of-town orders are best placed before the weekend.

Wheelchair accessible

The entrance is wheelchair accessible, so you can get right up to the dispensary counter unassisted.

The locker is the shortcut

If a queue is the only thing standing between you and your medicine, send your script through first and collect from the locker instead.

A photo of your script on WhatsApp, or an email to Medicine@albertynapteek.co.za, saves you the wait either way — we will have it dispensed before you arrive.

Quieter first thing

Google's visit data has us busiest between about midday and three. Before ten or after half past three is the calmer run if you would like more time at the counter.
